CONFIDENT PACQUIAO ARRIVES IN LAS VEGAS

PhilBoxing.com

A confident and relaxed Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee as well as the Filipino ring idol?s younger brother Bobby Pacquiao have arrived in Las Vegas following a five hour drive from Los Angeles.

Pacquiao who has prepared like never before for his Grand Finale rubber match with Erik "The Terrible One" Morales is in perfect condition and celebrated trainer Freddie Roach believes he will repeat his battering of Morales in their rematch
last January in which he won by a tenth round knockout, decking Morales for the first time in his illustrious ring career.

Pacquiao was reportedly in a fine mood and kept strumming his guitar and singing his songs while being driven to Vegas in his Lincoln Navigator. Pacquiao sang his latest single at the lounge of the Wynn hotel before moving into his fifth floor
tower suite. Pacquiao is scheduled to work out along with brother Bobby at the well laid out IBA Gym today.

Bobby Pacquiao battles Mexican journeyman Hector Velasquez on Friday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also in Las Vegas. Velasquez is the same fighter that Manny Pacquiao devastated in six rounds in a tune-up fight before the rematch with Morales.

Meantime, the frenzy leading towards the Grand Finale showdown is building up in the Philippines where Pacquiao is a national sports hero. The latest to join the venues where the fights will be shown "Live" on a pay-per-view basis is the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat Road, Paranaque.

Promoter ? businessman Johnny Elorde, son of the late great world junior lightweight champion Gabriel "Flash" Elorde said the fight will be shown at the Flash Grand Ballroom to accommodate all the students of the various Elorde gym and Metro Manila fight fans. In addition to the ballroom, the Pacquiao-Morales fight and the undercard will also be shown at the Elorde cockpit stadium. Tickets are priced at P350 which would entitle buyers to also watch the cockfights later in the day free of charge.

Elorde announced that as a gift to boxers licensed by the Games and Amusements Board they would not be charged an entrance fee to watch the fight card which will be beamed "live" by satellite from the Thomas & Macl Center in Las Vegas. In welcoming boxers Elorde said "more than anybody else, I think the boxers should be given priority to watch this."
