ALA PROMOTIONS SUBMITS DOSSIER ON FAKE GENARO GARCIA TO THE WBC By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 27 Mar 2012 The highly respected ALA Promotions has submitted a ?dossier? on the fake Genaro Garcia transaction to the Mexican Boxing Commission as well as to World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman and his son and executive secretary Mauricio Sulaiman detailing the fake Genaro Garcia transaction involving Mexican agent Hugo Correa. In a position paper titled ?The real facts nd truth about the Genaro Garcia deception? ALA promotions president Michael Aldeguer detailed the exchange of communications with agent Hugo Correa which clearly showed that from the beginning Corea had deceived ALA Promotions. The exchange of emails, copies of which were provided the Standard as well as the WBC and the Mexican Boxing Commission clearly indicated that Correa had agreed to send Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia the super bantamweight with a record of 38-8 with 22 knockouts to fight Rey ?Boom Boom? Garcia in an IBF International featherweight championship last March In Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Don Jose Sulaiman informed the Manila Standard that he had summoned Correa to a hearing on Tuesday, Manila Time, even as he vowed to get to the bottom of the case to protect the good name of Mexican boxing and its promoters and agents. In an email to Correa on May 5, ALA Promotions informed the agent that they were only interested in Genaro Garcia (the super bantamweight), Pipino Cuevas Jr and Alejandro Barrera for a series of fights against ALA boxers. In a May 7 email Correa claimed that both Garcia and Cuevas had no US visas to which ALA responded by saying they were surprised that Garcia had no US visa when he had fought Wilfredo Vazquez Jr in a WBO title fight in Florida, USA on November 11, 2009. Aldeguer pointed out that the very fact he had mentioned the Genaro Garcia ? Wilfredo Vazquez Jr fight that he was clearly referring to Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia and not to any other Genaro Garcia. ALA noted that on June 6, 2010 Correa ?for the first and only time? mentioned the name of ?Panterita? Garcia (bantamweight) along with the names of 11 other boxers. ?Panterita? Garcia is listed as a lightweight at 135 pounds and fought Pipino Cuevas at 136 ? pounds and Hector Velasquez at 134 ? pounds. ALA posed the question ?Why was Hugo trying to make us believe that ?Panterita? is a bantamweight when obviously he is not?? In an urgent email on March 5, ALA Promotions told Correa ?he fooled us and sent us the wrong Genaro Garcia. We told him that in all our communications and negotiations you misled us to believe that we were negotiating for Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia whom you committed to send but instead you sent us a different fighter with the same name? which ALA branded as ?malicious and dishonest.? The Filipino promoter also pointed out that they attempted to call Correa several times after they discovered that he had sent them a fighter who was not the boxer they had contracted but to no avail. Correa ?only surfaced to answer our emails only after the wrong Genaro Garcia had left the Philippines.? Photo: Genaro "Panterita" Garcia kisses the canvas during his bout with Bohol's Rey Bautista.
