Banal vs Indo in 'Battle of the Undefeated'

PhilBoxing.com

Unbeaten young prospect, the 17-year-old promising fighter, AJ Banal, of the ALA stable meets his toughest test in his young career when he collides with Indonesian Super Flyweight champion Ali Rochmad on July 22 Sandugo Boxing Festival dubbed as the “Battle of the Undefeated” at the Island City Mall Carpark, Tagbilaran City.

This is another blockbuster presentation of a coordinated effort between the Sandugo Foundation headed by Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim and SGG Sports Promotion Samson Gello-ani in association with Golden Boy Promotion and ALA Boxing Gym.

The young knockout artist Banal parades an awesome and unblemished record of 7 wins, 1 draw, no losses with 6 KO’s and is touted to be the next boxing sensation from Bohol after Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista and Czar Amonsot who already carved a name for themselves in the international scene.

To test his mettle, international promoter Sammy ‘Don King’ Gello-ani has chosen a dangerous and an undefeated national champion, Ali Rochmad of Indonesia who could jeopardize the future of the young and promising Banal.

Rochmad boasts likewise of an immaculate record with 12 wins, no losses with 9 of those wins by way of knockouts.

Since winning the Indonesian Super Flyweight crown, the good-looking Rochmad has successfully defended it twice, with both fights ending via stoppage over Danggur Pasaribu and Paul Roger respectively.

The Indonesian warrior will be the third foreign opponent Banal faces as he had previously defeated two Thais – Dechapol Bankluaygym and Bangsaen Sithpraprom – by way of knockout. Banal hopes to add another convincing win to an already impressive record against Rochmad.

This spectacular boxing event will also showcase the boxing skills of two other ALA boys against their counterparts from Manila in the supporting bouts. Along Denoy and Robert Allanic will test their skills against Alex Guevarra and Danilo Pe?a respectively.

Denoy, fresh from his US stint last May 12 at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, will trade mitts with veteran Alex Guevarra who just came from a technical win last March 3, 2006 against Benjie Sorolla. Allanic, on the other hand, will climb the ring against another Manila-based boxer, Danilo Pe?a. Incidentally, Allanic, like Banal also came fresh from a knockout win against another Thai, Saensak Singmanassak, last April 30, 2006.

Preliminary bouts will feature other Bohol boxers headed by Arnel Tadena, Nic Banal, Lito Jalnaiz, Leon Maratas and Ricky Sismundo. Mindanao based boxers are slated to test the skills of these young Boholanos. A special attraction fight will also appear in the already action-packed card as Honolulu-based boxer, Van Oscar Penovaroff fights against Fernando Otik from Mandaue City.

This boxing show is offered FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC as part of the culminating activity of Tagbilaran City as they round up the month-long celebration of the Sandugo Festival.
