Michael Landero 105.8 lbs, "Rayito" Garcia 106.2 lbs for tomorrow's clash in Tijuana

Filipino minimumweight figther Michael Landero (15-5-4, 5 KO's) of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, weighed 105.8 lbs, while his more experienced opponent, former 2-time world champion champion Mexican Raul "Rayito" Garcia (31-2-1, 19 KOs) tipped the scales at 106.2 lbs., ahead of their 10-round clash tomorrow in Tijuana, Mexico.
Michael Landero's last fight was a hard fought 12-round unanimous decision lost to South African Hekkie Budler (19-1, 6KOs) in dispute of the IBO minimumweight world title last September in Kempton Park, South Africa.
The winner of the Michael Landero-Raul "Rayito" Garcia rumble will challenge WBO minimumweight world champion Mois?s Fuentes (14-1, 6KOs) of Mexico.
Moises Fuentes was supposed to fight Landero but had to be pulled off due to an unexpected injury during training erlier this week and Raul "Rayito" Garcia was called as a substitute.
"Rayito" Garcia, 29, is twin brother of former world champion Ramon "El Principe" Garcia Hirales, who last October got the raw end of a controversial 12-round decision to Filipino Donnie "Ahas" Nietes in Bacolod, Philippines.
After the weight-in ceremony which took place at Macroplaza Mall in downtown Tijuana, "Rayito" Garcia commented:
"I came well prepared as i anticipate a tough fight. I look forward to a victory so that I could face Mois?s Fuentes again and regain my world championship." Rayito Garcia lost his WBO world title to Mois?s Fuentes last August in Guadalajara.
In the co-main event, former super flyweight world champion jarocho Tom?s "Gusano" Rojas (37-13-1, 25KOs) will face defe?o Julio "La Sombra Z?rate (28-5-2, 17) in a 10 round combat in the super bantamweight division.
This Tijuana card is promoted by is Zanfer Promotions and will be broadcast by TV Azteca.
