PhilBoxing.com

Montreal, Wednesday July 15, 2009 - Golden Boy Promotions, InterBox, IBF World Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Bute (24-0-0, 19 KOs) and IBF number one ranked supper middleweight contender Librado Andrade (28-2-0, 21 KOs) could not be any prouder today. Richard Schaefer, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Boy Promotions in Los Angeles and Jean Bedard, decision maker for Les Promotions Sportscene Inc./ InterBox reached an 11th hour deal last night for the benefit of boxing fans worldwide. Both companies have agreed co-promote the Lucian Bute vs.Librado Andrade mandatory IBF rematch in either Quebec City or Montreal on November 28th 2009.

"The first fight between these two great fighters was a war," stated Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya. "To be able to see them fight again is a special treat for all fight fans around the world. Lucian Bute is an accomplished world champion with a tremendous following and Librado Andrade is today one of the most exciting fighters in the sport. Their styles are made for each other and I can't wait for the fist bell to ring on November 28th."

"Negotiations with Richard Schaefer were very cordial and concluded with both parties satisfied of reaching the best possible deal. We are very excited to get this promotion underway and look forward to closely collaborating with our partner Golden Boy Promotions. I am extremely proud that Quebec boxing fans will be able to see this fight live," stated Mr. Bedard.

"I am very pleased to have been able to work out a co-promotion with Canada's leading boxing promotion company InterBox to bring this great sequel Bute vs. Andrade back to Canada," said Richard Schaefer. "We hope that this relationship will be the beginning of future cross-border events between our two companies."
"Librado is one of the best and most dangerous 168 pounders in the world and I was dead serious when I said I would fight him anywhere in the world," said Bute. "We have unfinished business to settle in the ring. This being said, I am thrilled that the fight will take place in Quebec, in front of my fans. For me, this is a dream come true and I plan to take full advantage of this opportunity. I will beat Librado and then will fight anybody willing to enter the ring against me."

"I really can't wait for the fight and am excited for it to take place in Canada where all of the fans saw our first fight," said Andrade. "We have unfinished business and I'm happy that it will be settled where it matters most. I'm coming to win. No decision this time. I'm coming to finish what I started in our first fight."

Andrade also announced that he will be dedicating this fight to the memory of a fellow fighter with ties to Quebec. "Because he has always been an inspiration to me and I fight with the same never give up, warrior's spirit that Arturo Gatti fought with, and because he was from Montreal, I am dedicating this fight to his memory."
