MELLIGEN WINS BY 2ND ROUND TKO

Mark Jason Melligen of the Philippines won by 2nd round TKO moments ago over his Mexican rival Fabian Luque at the Gimnasio Oscar ?Tigre? Garc?a in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
Melligen (15-1-0 11KOs) knocked down Luque (21-9-4 12KOs) in the first round and then again in the second round before the referee stopped the one-sided contest in Melligen's favor.
According to Antonio L. Aledguer, ALA Gym's top honcho who manages Melligen, the Bacolod-born fighter will return to Cebu on June 25 to take a short rest before going back to the U.S. in July to prepare for a yet to be named opponent for an August 15 fight in Las Vegas.
In the night's main event, former Pacquiao opponent Hector Velazquez (51-13-2 35KOs) of Tijuana was upset by local boy Joksan Hernandez (15-1-0 9KOs).
