"FIGHT NIGHT CLUB" DEBUTS AT CLUB NOKIA ON JUNE 11TH FEATURING OXNARD'S DAVID RODELA AGAINST JUAN GARCIA

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES, June 2 - On Thursday, June 11th, "Fight Night Club" premieres at Club Nokia at LA LIVE across the street from STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, and to kick off this highly-anticipated new boxing series, Golden Boy Promotions will be featuring Los Angeles area top young boxing talent with Oxnard's David Rodela headlining against Juan Garcia and Paramount's unbeaten featherweight Charles Huerta in the co-featured attraction during what promises to be a night to remember.

The televised bouts will air live on VERSUS Network and will be streamed live on RingTV.com and Yahoo! Boxing beginning at 6:00pm PT/9:00pm ET. Doors open at 5:00pm PT and the first bell rings at 5:30pm PT for this scheduled seven-bout evening of boxing. After the exciting night of boxing action, fans will enjoy great music, dancing and a chance to mingle with the fighters as the venue will convert back into a night club.

"Fight Night Club" is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and AEG and is sponsored by Quaker State, EA Sports' Fight Night Round 4 and Vitamin Water. The series will return to Club Nokia on July 30th, August 27th and September 24th.

Tickets, priced at $65 (Mezzanine VIP), $50 (Lower Mezzanine), $40 (Upper Mezzanine) and $28 (General Admission: Floor Standing Room), are on sale now and may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 online at www.ticketmaster.com or thru any Ticketmaster outlet or the STAPLES Center box office. Group tickets and full series tickets at a discounted rate are also available by calling 1-877-AEG TICKETS (1-877-234-8425).

A former United States amateur champion, Oxnard's "Dangerous" David Rodela (12-1-2, 6 KO's) is hitting his stride in the pro ranks with a series of big wins over the last two years, including victories over Jose Luis "Mapachito" Soto Karass, Julio Gamboa, Ramon Ayala and former world champion Kevin Kelley. Fresh off of a ten-round win over Marlon "Rata" Aguilar in January, Rodela will be put to the test by fellow prospect Juan Garcia (14-2, 5 KO's). A native of Phoenix, the versatile and technically sound Garcia tore through his early opposition, building up a 14-0 record in the process. Two recent losses have stalled his progress, but the 22-year-old is looking to get back on track by beating Rodela on June 11th.

Paramount, California's Charles Huerta (10-0, 5 KO's) has had a busy 2009 thus far with a split decision victory over veteran Andres Ledesma and a unanimous decision victory over Gregorio Torres. On June 11th, the unbeaten featherweight returns to show his Southern California fans just why he is considered to be one of the 126-pound division's brightest prospects. Huerta will fight an opponent to be determined.

In addition to Rodela and Huerta, the card is packed with Southern California locals including two special televised attractions featuring Santa Ana's Luis Ramos (10-0, 5 KO's) in a four round lightweight battle and Ricky Lopez (3-0, 2 KO's) of Oxnard who will face Missael Nunez (4-8-2) of Los Angeles in a four round featherweight bout. Also in action will be Jose Roman (4-0, 3 KO's) of Santa Ana against Wilmington's Ramon Flores (3-5-1, 3 KO's) in a four round junior lightweight brawl and Cornelius Lock (18-3, 11 KO's) of Detroit against Filipino Los Angeles resident Vernie Torres (27-12, 15 KO's) in a six round featherweight match.

"Fight Night Club" will present boxing in a night club atmosphere, with a DJ, music and a VIP room, as well as a unique setup where the ring is on Club Nokia's stage with a standing room area for fans in front of the ring, as well as reserved seating in the balcony. After the boxing action ends, fans will have a chance to hear great music played by LA's hottest DJ's, dance and mingle with the fighters as the venue will convert into a night club.
