PH chess wizard seven-year old Noah Lucas Palcis finishes second in Bangkok chess

PH chess wizard seven-year-old Noah Lucas Palcis finished in second place in the just concluded AISB Chess Without Borders Under 9 Open chess tournament held at the Australian International School in Bangkok, Thailand last March 29, 2026.
Palcis, a Grade 2 student of Dominican School of Angeles City Foundation Inc. had five wins and one loss in six outings.
He, 3rd placer Pyae That Hpone, and fourth placer Sanaya Sahu had identical scores but Palsis had a better quotient.
Archawin Koraviyotin won the tournament with a perfect 6.0 points in this rapid chess tournament organized by Red Knight Chess Club.
Palcis defeated Ruhtaab Singh Bajwa (Round 1), Nevaan Bordoloi (Round 2) and Porpieng Kijkamjai (Round 3).
He was beaten by eventual champion Koraviyotin in the fourth round but bounced back after beating Yuto Koshi in the fifth and Ko Takeuchi in the sixth and final round to land in second place.
His local and international chess tournament is supported by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo 'Jon' Lazatin II, Angeles City Sports Office Head Mr. Rosever Pascua, Angeles City Chess Library Training Program and Coach Jose "Fer" Camaya.
Palcis is also fresh from winning the Developmental chess tournament (8 years old and below) held last March 7 at 3rd floor of Angeles City Public Library in Angeles City, Pampanga.
He is set to compete in the Palarong Panglunsod on April 11 in Angeles City,Pampanga.
Palcis just started the rudiment of chess last year according to Coach Camaya. (Marlon Bernardino)
