JACA, MALULAN LOSE IN THAILAND!
PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Jun 2008
BANGKOK, THAILAND--Jimrex Jaca of the Rex 'Wakee' Salud Stable and Javier Malulan of Panagan Stable both lost to Thai boxers here hours ago during separate events beamed simultaneously on two television channels 7 and 5 and seen all throughout the country.
Jaca was stopped in the sixth round by former WBA champion Yodsanan Nanthachai in a bout held in Pattaya, while the Baguio City-raised Malulan succumbed to an 8th-round technical knockout to the very talented 39-year-old fighter Pramuansak Phosuwan, an ex-Olympian and ranked WBO no. 1 superflyweight, in a separate event held in Rachaburi, Thailand.
Former Philippine-based promoter Perry McNeely, who now resides in this beautiful vacation country, observed that Jaca did well in the early going, but soon got tired and could not keep up with the bullstrong Yodsanan.
Another Filipino fighter, RP lightweight champ JR Sollano of Wakee Salud Stable, was blown away in the first round by Saddam Kietyongyuth, a very talented Thai prospect.
Over in Rachaburi, Filipino fighter Anthony Esmedina looked every inch the winner but took a decision loss at the hands of Duangpetch Kokietgym.
Esmedina slowed down Duangpetch with his body attack, and the latter had to resort to clinching to survive and hear the final bell.
