Ortega wins Laguna chess

Ace Bryant Miguel Ortega topped the first-ever MMCCI Laguna 1st District (Sta. Rosa, Biñan, San Pedro) Individual 1950 & below Rapid Chess Tournament held at St. Francis 10 Subd, Biñan City on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Ortega bagged the 6K prize. Meanwhile in the Kiddies section, Neil Kaiden Amatorio and Ghilyn Marianne Manire tied for first place with 6 points a piece, where Amatorio prevailed and won the champion's prize due to higher tiebreaks.
The MMCCI is collaborating with the Laguna government, especially in the 1st District, for their efforts to promote sports, particularly chess and other fields for the benefit of the youth.
