P40,000 total cash in Chess Mates Open rapid chess tournament By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Wed, 29 May 2024 Manila---A TOTAL cash prize of P40,000 is at stake in the Chess Mates Open rapid chess tournament set on Sunday, June 2, 2024, 10am at the 3rd floor Taft Central Mall beside Gil Puyat LRT station and SOGO Hotel in Pasay City. United States Chess Master Arthur Macaspac bared this enjoining avid chess enthusiasts to join the tournament open for Filipinos and foreigners. P1,500 each for all the players who will score 4.5 points in this 7 Round Swiss System, applying rapid time control of 15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment. Defending champion is Kevin Erandio Arquero winning the Labor Day Chess Mates Open rapid chess tournament last May 1, 2024 with 6/7/. Registration fees are pegged at P800 for advanced entry, P900 for onsite entry, P500 each for IM and kids entry while free registration for GM.
