FM Christian Gian Arca of Panabo City suffered his first loss in the fourth round of the 21st Bangkok Chess Club Open 2024 last April 16 at Bangkok in Thailand.
Arca lost to GM Denis Makhnev of Kazakhstan. Arca still has 2.5 points.
IM Michael Concio Jr., on the other hand, continued his smooth game as he demolished compatriot CM Ivan Travis Cu while Oscar Joseph Cantela defeated IM Madhavan Hari of India.
Cantela and Concio now have 3.5 points.
IM Jan Emmanuel Garcia lost to WIM Dehankar Mrudol of India while veteran Allan Diez of Davao City again suffered a loss to K. Adharsh of India. [Lito delos Reyes]
