YOUNG Fernando Tagpuno Jr. of Bayugan, Agusan del Sur will go to Australia to fight Dana Coolwell for the vacant IBO Inter-Continental featherweight title on March 23 at the Caloundra RSL Club in Caloundra, Queensland.
The 22-year-old Tagpuno has never been defeated since 2022 and he has won six fights.
But it will be the first time for Tagpuno to fight abroad and the first to fight for a title.
Tagpuno has fought and won five bouts last year. The last fight was against Franco Serafica of Manila by a technical knockout in the 5th round last November 11 in Quezon City.
Tagpuno has seven wins with seven knockouts with two loses while Coolwell got 12 wins with 8 knockouts and two loses.
The 25-year-old Coolwell has recently knocked out Angelo Beltran of Valencia City in the 7th round last October 7, 2023 at Mooloolaba Bowls Club in Mooloolaba, Australia.
Stephen Pitt of Punch For Pay Promotions is the promoter.
