Youth standard chess tourney starts March 16

DAVAO CITY – The 87th Araw ng Dabaw Youth Standard Chess Championship will be held on March 16, 17, 23 and 24 at the 4th Floor of GCinemas of G Mall in Bajada, Davao City.
The 7-rounds Swiss system format is the qualifying leg for Batang Pinoy. Participants must be 17 years old and below.
The categories are the boys and girls for Under 17, Under 15, Under 13, Under 11 and Under 9.
Cash, medals and trophies are at stake for the three winners.
“This is exclusive for 75 Davao City players only,” said tournament director FA/FI Ronnie Tabudlong.
It is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
