FLORANTE'S SONG WILL BE CONDES' MARCHING SONG
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 Jun 2008
Popular Filipino folk musician Florante's song "Ako'y Isang Pinoy" will be Florante Condes' marching song when he enters the ring about an hour from now at the Gimnacio Arturo in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico to defend his IBF minimumweight title against local boy Raul 'Rayito' Garcia.
Condes will be accompanied to the ring by his team headed by his Puerto Rican manager Dante Ortiz, promoter Sammy Gello-ani, trainer Danny Bactol, his uncle Larry Valencia and lawyer Edgar Padernal. A 21-year-old Filipino lass from Dumaguete and long-time La Paz resident Chritine Ramos has been tapped to carry the Philippine flag inside the ring.
Reports from Mexico indicate that many Mexican 'boxeo afficionados' who had followed Condes' daily training regimen had jumped over to the side of the Romblon bomber and many have said that Condes who is nicknamed 'The Little Pacquiao' would be very hard to beat and has shown potentials to become a superstar in the lower weight division.
