AFTER a two year absence from the ring, light flyweight Jerry “Marksman” Francisco of Antipas, Cotabato will make a big comeback on April 8 in Bukidnon.
He will face Chinese Raymond Poob KaiChing for the WBC Asian Continental light flyweight title scheduled for 10 rounds.
Francisco, who has 9 wins, 2 knockouts and 2 loses, is now training at the Sanman Boxing Gym in General Santos City.
Francisco’s last fight was a losing effort against Arvin Magramo of Paranaque City for the vacant WBO Oriental light flyweight belt on October 23, 2021 at the Elorde Sports Complex. The 5-foot-6 Francisco suffered a second round technical knockout against Magramo.
Francisco also earlier lost to Garen Diagan of General Santos Santos for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation light flyweight title by a technical decision in the 5th round last September 5, 2019 in Polomolok.
KaiChing, on the other hand, has also 9 wins with 6 knockouts and 2 loses.
His last bout was a 4th round TKO victory against Wichet Sengprakhon to retain his WBC Asian Continental light flyweight championship last October 26, 2023 in Spaceplus Bangkok RCA.
