Niño Alcantara Climbs from 176 to 169 in ATP Rankings, Becomes Number One Doubles Player in the Philippines

Niño Alcantara, the rising tennis star from the Philippines, continues to make waves in the international ATP circuit, recently elevating his career-high ranking from 176 to 169. Not only is he rising thru the ranks internationally but locally, he now holds the title of being the number one ranked doubles player in the Philippines.
Unified Tennis Philippines (UTP) President Jean Henri Lhuilier expressed profound pride in Niño Alcantara's journey, sharing the sentiments of many admirers and supporters. Lhuilier remarked, "Nino's relentless pursuit to greatness greatly embodies the resilience and determination that define great athletes. His achievements inspire us all and reflect the immense potential within the Filipino tennis community. He truly deserves the recognition and we cannot wait until the day he lands a spot in the top 100 players in the ATP."
In recent competitions, Alcantara showcased his formidable talent by clinching victories on the international stage. He emerged triumphant in the doubles tournament at the M25 Chennai International Tennis Federation (ITF) event held in India. Additionally, his remarkable performance alongside partner Alex Eala earned them the bronze medal for mixed doubles at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in September 2023. Furthermore, Alcantara, alongside partner Ruben Gonzales, secured the gold medal for male doubles at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, marking another significant milestone in his illustrious career.-Marlon Bernardino-
