PINOY BOXING 7: GENESIS SERVANIA MAKES A RING COMEBACK AGAINST WALDO SABU ON NOVEMBER 18

PhilBoxing.com

Former WBO regional champion and world title challenger Genesis "Azukal" Servania makes a comeback at the top of the ring and fights Indonesian Waldo Sabu “Ho Tram Rumble” on November 18 at the Grand Ho Tram Strip in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

The 32-year-old Servania was defeated in his last two fights and his coming fight hopes for a resurgence in his professional career. He suffered a shocking first round knockout to Andres Cortes in 2021 in the US. He fought in Japan the following year and was stopped by the former IBF world super bantamweight champion Ryosuke Iwasa in the fourth round.

Born in Bacolod City and now residing in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, Servania was one of the fighters of the now-defunct ALA Gym. He was a long-time regional champion for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific and intercontinental title. He challenged then WBO featherweight titlist Oscar Valdez and lost by unanimous decision in the United States in September 2017.

Servania also fought Andres Cortes (loss KO), Panya Uthok (win TD), Ahmad Lahizab (win TKO), Carlos Castro (loss UD), Carlos Carlson (win KO), Jason Butar Butar (win KO) and Kittiwat Sirichotchayakun (win KO).

The 34-year-old Sabu is a veteran fighter that has fought some known fighters in world boxing. He fought the likes of WBA bantamweight world champion Takuma Inoue (loss KO), Juan Miguel Elorde (loss UD), Karoon Jarupianlerd (loss TKO) and Shingo Wake (loss KO).

Sabu last fought in a fifth round knockout loss to Dong Kwan Lee on January 28 in South Korea.

Servania has a record of 34-4 with 16 knockouts, while Sabu is 14-15 with three knockouts.
