Pakistan Unbeaten Heavyweight Taimoor Khan Gears Up for WBC Asia Clash in Thailand

PhilBoxing.com

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Pakistan's hard-hitting unbeaten heavyweight "The Diamond Boy" Taimoor Khan (7-0, 6 KO's), pushes forward his pro boxing career as the 26-year-old from the Pashtun Mohmand Tribe in Islamabad takes on battle-tested warrior Panya Chomphoophuang of Lopburi, Thailand, for the vacant WBC Asia Heavyweight Belt.

The title fight, billed as "Explosive Power," is set to unfold at the luxurious, high-end SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Thailand, as another presentation of prolific Asian promoter Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions.

The war will be a tough mission for Taimoor Khan, who had to cross through copious sweet, endless runs and excruciating training while committed to strict fasting (no food, nor water during the day time for one month), throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, which ended last Thursday, April 20.

A devoted Muslin, as well as a dedicated rising-star boxer, Taimoor Khan feels spiritually motivated as well as physically strong, ready for boxing action, aiming at delivering a thrilling, classy performance that would lead him to a higher level of competition.

"I feel great," said Taimoor Khan to Boxingscene.

"Yes, It is challenging to spar, skipping the rope, do all this boxing training in super hot Bangkok while fasting, especially without drinking water. No eating is no problem. No drinking water (during the day), while training, that was the challenge.

"Some times, I even felt dizzy. But in fact, fasting is so good for health. Thanks be to God I did it ok, now feeling stronger than ever.

"Muhammad Ali an Oleksandr Usyk are men I admire, true champions inside and outside of the ring. They go through things with class, inspiring many, inspiring me," said the big and friendly Taimoor during a break in his training camp in Bangkok.

Boxing Fans can look forward to see more of Taimoor Khan, the exciting new entry into the heavyweight world, wondering how will Taimoor will perform under pressure, especially after the fastting he went through, and what new heavyweight opponent will he clash against next.

THE SUPPORTING FIGHTS:

Nine more action rumbles complete Taimoor Khan's show, promoted by Highland Boxing Promotions, the event including regional WBC Asia, WBA Asia and ABF (Asian Boxing Federation) title wars.

In the card's co-feature, heavy-hitters, 20-year-old Thailand slugger Apisit Sangmuang (12-3, 9 KO's) lock horns hard against 25-year-old Stephane Fondjo (10-1, 8 KO's) of Yaounde, Cameroon, for the WBA Asia South Super Middleweight strap.

In addition, 25-year-old Jean Junior Messi Elime (6-1, 3 KO's) of Cameroon clashes in a 10-frame war againts 30-year-old coming-forward warrior Ahmad Samir Dawrani (9-2-1, 6 KO's) of Bazarak, Afghanistan, for the WBA Asia East Welterweight Belt.

In women's action, cute Hong Kong boxing girl Yang Sheau Ru (3-0, 3 KO's), who is also a black belt in Kung Fu, trades blows against more-experienced fighting lady Saowaluk Nareepangsri of Pathum Thani, Thailand. The two 28-year-old women will collide for the vacant WBC Asia Super Flyweight Crown.

In a rumble that might en by knockout, coming-forward samurai warrior Toshihiko Era (9-2, 8 KO's), of Osaka, Japan, enters into battle in a scheduled 10 round clash against Indonesian Yeret Tildyuir for the ABF Flyweight Title.

Moreover, in another heavyweight rumble, Adil Akonov, who comes from the country of "GGG," Kazakhstan, steps for the first time into pro boxing in a war against more experienced Pronwissanu Suwaros of Thailand. It will be 4 rounds of action in the Heavyweight division.

From heavyweights to light flyweights. Unbeaten world-ranked Filipino light flyweight "The Striker" John Michael Zulueta (14-0-3, 7 KO's), currently in the WBA and IBF world rankings, returns to action against tough and experienced SIlem Serang of Depok, Indonesia, in a scheduled 10-round clash.

It's a rumble in which Zulueta, a native of Bacolod City in the Philippines, will attempt a successful 2nd defense of his regional ABF (Asian Boxing Federation) 108 lbs title.

A win will get the world-ranked "The Striker" Zulueta closer to his dream of a shot at the 105 or 108 pound world title. A defeat would be disastrous. What will happen?

Also, focused welterweight warrior "The Terminator" Ador Torres (7-4-1, 4 KO's) of the beautiful Bicol Bungto san Santa Magdalena in the Probinsya han Sorsogon in the Philippines, will clash hard in a scheduled 10-chapter saga against Thailand's unbeaten 147-pounder former Muay Thai combatant Phiraphong Phuitthoeng, a man who has won all of his pro boxing fights by way of knockout.

The war is Ador Torres' first defense of the ABF welterweight strap that he conquered in his previous fight last December.

What will transpire when the hard-swinging Phiraphong engages into war mode against the Filipino "Terminator," the perfectly functioning machine who comes from stopping his last three opponents?

Both 28-year-old fighters need the W so as to advance their careers. Who will emerge victorious?

Plus, Filipino-American "The Fighting Doc" JV Tuazon (3-4-2, 2 KO's) of Jersey City, New Jersey, by way of Manila, Philippines, will trade blows in a six-frame featherweight battle against fearless journeyman Jack Amisa of the City of Malang in East Java, Indonesia.

"Explosive Power," the exciting boxing show on April 27 at the SpacePlus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Thailand, is another presentation of boxing promoters Supanat Chanram and Brico Santig's of Highland Boxing Promotions.

May the Best Men and Woman Win!
