Suarez bags 4 titles in Australia

CHARLY “King’s Warrior” Suarez of San Isidro, Davao del Norte scored a technical knockout in the last 12th round against Paul Fleming of Australia to win four new titles last March 15 at the Kevin Betts Stadium in Mount Druitt, Sydney.

Suarez captured the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental, World Boxing Association (WBA) Oceania, World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Boxing Council and the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Inter-Continental super featherweight titles.

The 34-year-old Suarez also had the IBF Asia, WBA Asia and Philippine super featherweight titles in 2022.

Suarez sent down Fleming in the early 12th round with a right hook. Fleming stood up to fight again but Suarez continued with unanswered left and right punches forcing referee Pat O'Connor to stop the fight.

Suarez “considers it to be the sounding of a battlecry to put the world on notice.”

“I may have won but by only the grace and strength that the Lord has provided me, I would not be where I am now if not only by Christ,” said Suarez.

Suarez remained undefeated with 15 wins and nine knockouts while Fleming suffered his first loss after 28 wins with 18 knockouts.
