Cebu-based Acope to fight in Pacquiao's Blow-by-Blow show By Jun Migallen PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Jan 2023 ![]() CEBU, Philippines - Cebu-based John May Acope of Pagara Boxing Gym of Lilo-an is set to see action in Manny Pacquiao's next edition of Blow-by-Blow to be held on February 27, 2023 at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City. Toting a 3-1-1 record, the native of Manticao, Misamis Oriental, will face hometown talent Dennis Gaviola in a scheduled 112-lbs. six-round fight as one of the undercard of Chriztian Pitt Laurente-Arnel Baconaje main event bout. The 22-year old Acope is eyeing an impressive win against Gaviola who started two draws in four fights of his pro boxing career. "Yes. I'm 100 % ready for the fight. I saw already his (Gaviola) style. I want to finish him off in the first round," Acope said in an interview with this writer. Last November 2022, Acope dispatched Jomari Ladera in just first round in Talisay City. Acope is a former amateur fighter who fought more than 200 fights. At one time he became a regional silver medalist. The other bouts in the undercard also features, Jerven Mama against Ruben Davidas; Judy Flores takes on Jonathan Taconing; Jayson Brillo faces Jayson Francisco; Kenneth Egano flex his muscles against Jeager Bereno while Alven Vergara will pits his skills against Pepito Magsangkay.
