 Bruno Tarimo (L).
All action Bruno “The Terminator” Tarimo heads to the road again, as the Australian based Tanzanian gets set for an OBPF title challenge on the undercard of Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler on December 13.
Tarimo has upset the odds on consistent occasions, however, the odds may be more in Tarimo’s favor than people realize.
The multi time regional title holder has successfully campaigned and super featherweight, but now drops to a weight he considers his natural weight of 122-pounds.
The Queensland based Tarimo discussed the move down in weight and opportunity to fight on the undercard of Naoya Inoue.
He said, “I am happy to be boxing on an amazing show and I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity, and my manager Tony Tolj, who God uses bring me great things in boxing. I am blessed to get this opportunity.
“This fight is at my natural weight. I have boxed at a higher weight for the opportunity, but now I have been blessed to box at a weight that is more suited to me and I think people will see the difference on fight night. This will be a hard show to steal, but I’m going to try to as I think at super bantamweight I can be world champion.”
Tarimo, who has held titles with the WBA and IBF now challenges for the coveted OPBF title, which to boxing insiders his highly regarded in Japan and by the WBC.
Bruno opened up on his feelings ahead of his clash for the super bantamweight strap. He said, “I am very excited, this title will send a message to the super bantamweight division that I am here to stay. I can’t wait.
“The OBPF is a very special title to win. I want to win it for God, for my family and for my manager and trainers. They work hard to get me these opportunities, and I want to make sure I do them proud. I believe winning this title puts me on a stage where I can become world champion.”
