Shakur Stevenson Drops, Dominates Conceicao; Moves to 135 Wanting Haney, Gervonta and Loma

PhilBoxing.com

Unbeaten star Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KO's) clearly dominated Brazilian challenger Robson "Obrabo" Conceicao (17-2, 8 KO's) with awesome shots to the mid-section and head, dropping the man from the land of Pele with a body-shot at the end of round 4 for a decisive unanimous decision win minutes ago live on ESPN+.

At the end, official tallies were 117-109 (twice) and 118-108 all in favor of the American from Brick City.

The Brazilian was forced to visit the blue canvas, getting counted by top New Jersey referee David Fields in the 4th round.

Conceicao might have won only one round in Philboxing.com's unofficial scoring.

Shakur got deducted one point for tossing his opponent to the canvas of the Prudential Center in Shakur's hometown of Newark.

In short, the Battle was an interesting 12-stanza affair with Conceicao being 100% dominated.

The boxing of Shakur Stevenson was far better-looking, orthodox and stylish than Conceicao's whose skills depended mostly on his awkward left jab with long straight right combo.

Indeed, Shakur displayed a richer, more fan-friendly boxing repertoire.

Shakur, 25, did not stop Conceicao, a former Olympic Gold medalist, but far clearly proves his superiority.

Unfortunately, Shakur lost his titles for failing to make 130. He says that he can no longer make the super featherweight and will move up to lightweight, wishing to battle the top men at the 135 division.

Yes indeed, with Shakur's win, he now wants to go on to 135, aiming at Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis or the popular Vasily "Loma" Lomachenko?

"I'd fight those guys, I'd fight Loma too," said Shakur to ESPN's Bernardo Osuna.

Now, woudn't you wonder this:

Would Shakur be as dominating and awesome in the lightweights as he was in the featherweights and super featherweights, becoming a 3-division world champion? What do you think?
