The Dasmariñas City, Cavite bet Concio, playing under the guidance of Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr. scored seven points on account of 5 wins and 4 draws to rule the single round robin FIDE standard tournament. “I would like to dedicate my victory to my countrymen. It’s an honor to represent our country,” said Concio, a 11th grader at the Dasmarinas Integrated High School who will celebrate his 17th birthday on Monday, May 30, 2022. Her elder sister Michella Oboza Concio had something to say: "Congratulations and Happy Birthday in advance tomorrow (Monday) Bunso (Michael "Jako" Oboza Concio Jr. ) ! I know Tatay (Father) Michael Concio is very happy in Heaven." Concio scored victories over compatriot FM Roel Abelgas in the second round, Nguyen Phuoc Tam of Vietnam in the third round, IM Mikhail Vasilyev of Ukraine in the fifth round, Saurabh Anand of India in the seventh round and Pham Xuan Dat of Vietnam in the eight round. He split the point with GM Bui Vinh of Vietnam in the first round, IM Vo Thanh Ninh of Vietnam in the fourth round and CM Arfan Aditya Bagus of Indonesia in the ninth and final round.
