GORRES FACES KENYAN OTIENO ON MAY 31
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 19 Apr 2008

Z "The Dream" Gorres will return to action on May 31 when he goes up against the very capable Nick Otieno in the main event of a card at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
Gorres was originally slated to face Tanzanian Francis Miyeyusho on May 18, but after Otieno KO'd Miyeyusho in the first round last April 5, organizers felt Otieno would be a better foe for Gorres.
The southpaw ALA Boy is coming off a split draw with Vic Darchinyan last February 2, and is eager to return to action in preparation for his world title fight agains the winner of the July 5 world title bout between Darchinyan and Kirilov.
Should Darchinyan come out victorious, his promoter Gary Shaw had agreed with Gorres's handler Antonio L. Aldeguer to do a rematch of their exciting showdown this time with the world title at stake.
Should Kirilov defeat Darchinyan, highly-respected international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz has indicated he would work on a Kirilov-Gorres faceoff.
Meanwhile, ALA Boy Weng Haya takes on Ruben Santillanosa in the ten-round main event of an April 26 card at the Bantayan Island Multi-Purpose Gym.
The undercard will pit Michael Otic against Jaylo Merlin, while Albert Villacampa takes on Samuel Capangngan, and Yao Ming Zaspa battles Mark Maguan.
