Gabunilas to fight Caindog on May 21

LIGHT flyweight John Paul “Angas ng Cebu” Gabunilas will fight Jomar Caindog of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte on May 21 at the Bonifacio Bacaltos Sport and Cultural Center in Sibonga, Cebu.
“I'm excited about my upcoming fight,” said Gabunilas, who is part of the ARQ Sports and ARQ Boxing Stable.
The 21-year-old Gabunilas recently stopped Clyde Azarcon of Davao City in the 1st round last March 19, 2022 at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Cebu City.
“My sparring is just with my teammates,” said Gabunilas.
Two of them are flyweights April Jay “Astroboy” Abne (8-1-0, 4KOs) and Berland Robles (3-0-0, 2KOs).
Gabunilas currently has six wins, one loss and five knockouts.
Caindog, on the other hand, also won his last fight against Ryan Ralozo of Cagayan de Oro City by a unanimous decision last January 15, 2020 at the Tablon Mini Gym in Tablon.
Caindog has 11 wins, two loses, one draw and four knockouts.
The Gabunilas-Caindog fight is the main event of the 11 bouts. It is promoted by Eva Marie Arguisola.
