Darren Cunningham’s Turkey Drive and School Visit a Major Success
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 23 Nov 2021

ST. LOUIS, MO (November 22, 2021) – This past Friday, Darren “The Gift” Cunningham (14-1, 7 KOs) had a successful Turkey Giveaway in his hometown of St. Louis, MO, where he gifted 500 families with a turkey for Thanksgiving. In addition, Cunningham spoke at Clyde C. Miller, his High School alma mater, giving words of encouragement to students and staff. He also attended a local amateur boxing show, where he will be giving qualified boxers some assistance to the Nationals.
“I’m very grateful to the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club for letting me use their facility to host the Turkey Giveaway,” said Cunningham, who was born and raised in in St. Louis. “I know times are tough these days during the pandemic and I just wanted to give back to the people of St. Louis, where I grew up. I spoke at the high school that I attended and made my way to a local amateur boxing show. It was a great weekend of giving back and I felt the love from everyone I encountered. I want to give a big shout out to KMOV Channel 4 for coming out to support the Turkey Drive.”
Cunningham is coming of a dominate performance against Rob Diezel (14-9, 4 KOs), an eight-round bout that took place Patapsco Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Look for Darren Cunningham to be back in the ring in early 2022, if not the end of this year.
“I’m trying to get one more fight by the end of the year, but if I can secure an opportunity, then I’ll be back in early 2022,” concluded Cunningham. “I feel with my new coach in place, I'll be more prepared for the next level of competition.”
