 Osvaldo Bisbal
Osvaldo Bisbal, the legendary leader of Argentine Boxing, died on November 5 after facing a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for years. Bisbal was in charge of Argentine boxing for 24 years and was responsible for great achievements.
Bisbal had returned to the top position of the entity that he presided over for more than 24 years after the death of Luis Romio last August and had commented on several occasions that he was only going to be in the presidency of the FAB until March 2022.
Health and respiratory problems put an end to a lifetime dedicated to Argentine boxing.
Bisbal was a professional referee and from there he assumed role as a leader.
He became president of the FAB in 1991 and in 2016 Luis Romio was his successor. In addition, he was vice president of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) that year.
During his tenure in Argentina there were between 70 and 100 evenings broadcast live per year.
Between 1991 and 2015, he made far-reaching and profound modifications in Argentine amateur boxing.
