NM Robert Arellano leads his CRCSA team to 1st victory in N1 IIEE National Chess Olympiad 2021

MANILA, Philippines---National Master and Engineer Robert Arellano proved unstoppable at the top board to lead IIEE Central Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (CRCSA) to 1st victory in N1 Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) National Chess Olympiad 2021 virtually held at Lichess.org Platform last September 17, 2021.
IIEE Central Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (CRCSA) upset top seed IIEE Metro South 18-14 with CRCSA NM Arellano gathering 7 of possible 8 points.

In other Bracket A results, IIEE Cagayan de Oro (CDO) beat IIEE Iloilo 20-12 with CDO new player Jemuel Calo led all scorers with 7 and Defending Champion IIEE Southern Laguna (SLC) bested the IIEE Northern Cavite 19-12 with new comer SLC Jeremiah Nolasco scored 7 points.

Bracket B highlights Led by Fideldia Joash, IIEE Camarines defeated Cebu 17-6; IIEE Metro Central edged Visayas 10-8 and Southwest Mindanao wins by default against AUH-UAE.
Bracket C saw IIEE Metro West and Southern Tagalog draws at 16-16 with both their board 1, Apollo Zantua and Vincent Palmiery also draws their game and have same points of 7; IIEE Bulacan bannered by NM Dennis Gutierrez nips Bahrain 17-15 and IIEE Metro East with complete players blasted La Union 18-6.
In Bracket D, Glenn Zenarosa of IIEE Western Region Central Saudi Arabia (WRCSA) defeated IIEE Singapore 20-12; Eastern Region Central Saudi Arabia (ERCSA) hold off IIEE Central Laguna 10-8; IIEE Bataan and IIEE Metro North tied at 9-9.
Regional results tied scores are IIEE Northern Luzon vs IIEE Central Luzon (12-12), IIEE Metro Manila vs Northern Mindanao (34-34) and IIEE Bicol vs Western Visayas (24-24); Eastern Central Visayas vs IIEE Foreign region (57-53) and Southern Luzon won over SouthWest Mindanao (23-13).

N1 IIEE National chess Olympiad is supported by IIEE National President Allan Alvarez, IIEE National VP Technical Affair Feliciano Padua III and National Chairman Joseph Solicar of TCPDC. It is an official sport under the Annual National Convention headed by Bureau Director and IIEE National VP Internal affair Lyndon Bague and Sports Coordinator Datu Amil Asakil.

The Olympiad will be guided by consultant FIDE National Arbiter Richard R. Dela Cruz, tournament director and former IIEE Bulacan chapter president Norberto De Jesus, 2021 IIEE National President Allan Anthony P. Alvarez and Normel Benigno de Jesus, former member of UST chess team, Gintong Kabataan ng Bulacan Awardee, presently Liason officer of Bulacan Republicans Basketball team in National Basketball League.-Marlon Bernardino-
