2021 NBA FINALS RATINGS UP WITHOUT LEBRON! By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Sat, 24 Jul 2021  USA – The 2021 NBA FINALS went up from low 7 million viewers per game (2020) to almost 10 million viewers per game (2021). This is based on Nielsen Media Research, an American firm that measures media audiences on TV. And look who is not in the NBA Finals? LeBron James. In the last two NBA Finals, views were like 2/3 or 66% less compared to the Jordan, Olajuwon and Duncan eras. One time in 1998 Bulls vs Jazz NBA Finals, it garnered almost 40 million views think about that. That's equivalent to 22% ratings, meaning 22% of American household watched NBA Finals. The highest US rating of all time was the NFL 2015 Super Bowl which garnered 115 million viewers, an amazing 70% rating. Why were the NBA ratings went down? Few reasons I can think of are, they inject politics in the game, the game became soft and most of all NBA punished big guys who can’t shoot 3-pointers. If you’re a big guy and can’t shoot outside, consider yourself useless. So the NBA basically eliminated inside games, low post game is extinct nowadays. Why I say the NBA has eliminated low post games? Because the NBA is preaching nonphysical game to protect players like LeBron, small touch and they call foul... You cannot see an Anthony Mason, a Charles Oakley, a Bill Laimbeer defense anymore. In other words the NBA protected the softies so they won’t cry. Then NBA is embracing politics, 2/3 of diehard fans watch the NBA so that they will be entertained. But the NBA want you to swallow their political views. Remember Bron sided with Chinese government over Daryl Morey who spoke against human right violations in Hong Kong. Then Bron’s tweet against the Police who saved a girl from being stabbed, LeBron tweeted, referring to the Police hero “YOU’RE NEXT”. All these bring sour taste to the truest fans of the NBA, now only one-third of their fans are watching. Is that sad? And here comes the 2021 NBA FINALS, minus Lebron reckless James, the rating went up around 3 million compared to last year. Perhaps, if the NBA wanted to win their fans again they shouldn’t be bias with their views and don’t let the police to be maligned by any player and stop punishing low post players. If I were NBA, I will make a dunk a 3-pointer so that Tacko Fall can play a lot! People are very happy to see if Tacko and Boban Marja play, tell me if I’m wrong… We are even hoping to see a second coming of Sir Charles… but as I said the NBA killed these talents, the NBA eliminated physical games. WHO AMONG YOU WANT TO SEE TACKO FALL PLAY MORE MINUTES AND MAKE THAT DUNK A 3-POINT? RAISE YOUR HAND! OH!BEERTIME – What did I say on my May 24th column? Let me refresh you, I told you guys Atlanta Hawks will go far, am I right or am I right? I even said on that column that Hawks will be on the Eastern Finals!... think about that, the Hawks got an Iverson replica but with unlimited range, and 10x better shooter than Iverson, is that scary or not? An Iverson with a Stephen Curry range = Trae Young... Casimero! In my own opinion why his scheduled Jr Bantamweight (118lbs) fight against former Feather weight (126 lbs) Donaire Jr got cancelled, was it because Donaire wanted to see Casimero fight Rigondeaux… remember how Rigo made Donaire look very ordinary? Rigo outboxed him the entire fight… so maybe Donaire think Rigo can eliminate Casimero and get rid of Casimero in the picture… but the brighter side is Casimero is very capable of adding the WBA belt to his WBO belt and then Donaire cannot make any more excuses but face the crowd favorite Casimero… Lastly, 76ers are in serious contention right now since they get rid of Ben Simmons, what did I wrote last April 18 column? “76ers won't go anywhere, they still have Ben Simmons, Simmons is a negligible factor in a tight game, he doesn’t have a perimeter game and he missed FTs in last 4 minutes if a game is close… so don’t count on 76ers, unless they trade Simmons for Kyle Lowry straight up…” AFTER ERROL FIGHT IS ANOTHER INTERESTING FIGHT - PACKY VS DU30! KUMBATEA!!!!!
