PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 Jun 2021
SAO PAULO, Brazil (June 22, 2021) – SFT has officially announced dates for its first three events of 2021, featuring four title fights, kicking off Thursday, July 15th with SFT 27.
Each show will be held in Sao Paulo and be streamed live in the United States and worldwide on pay per view via the FITE app and website (www.FITE.tv), starting at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT, for only $14.99.
“We’re very excited to be getting back to live events,” SFT president David Hudson said. “Not just because of the obvious, but it’s a sign that life is getting back to normal again. Everyone around the planet was affected by the pandemic. We had great momentum going when everything shutdown. Hopefully, now, we will get back on track.”
Two title fights are on tap for SFT 27. SFT’s 2020 Fighter of the Year, Manuel “Maumito” Sousa (6-0-0, SFT: 6-0-0), takes on Brendo “The Monster” Bispo (17-4-0, SFT: 1-0-0) in the main event for the vacant SFT Lightweight Championship. All six of Sousa’s SFT wins have been by stoppage. Bispo, a black belt in Muay Thai, is riding a 29-fight win streak in Muay Thai.
The co-featured event on SFT 27 is for the vacant SFT flyweight title, matching Mayra Cantuaria (8-3-1, SFT: 2-0-0) against Paty Borges (4-4-0, SFT: 2-2-0).
SFT Bantamweight Champion Wanderley “Mexicano” Junior (10-3-0, SFT: 3-1-0) will defend his title against undefeated challenger Jean Matsumoto (8-0-0, SFT: 3-0-0) in the SFT 28 main event August 1stt.
Helton dos Santos (19-7-1, SFT: 2-0-0) and former Bellator fighter and SFT pro-debuting Luis Noguriera (22-9-2) throw-down in the September 2nd SFT 29 main event for the Interim SFT Featherweight crown.
