The Monster Proved Too Much for Dasmariñas By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 20 Jun 2021 LAS VEGAS -- Japan’s undefeated bantamweight WBA and IBF champion can now focus on Nonito Donaire Jr and John Riel Casimero, the two Filipino bantamweight champions. He can chase after them and attempt to get all the belts and be called the undisputed king of bantamweights. Moments ago, Inuoe took care of business and scored a big win over his IBF mandatory challenger, Michael Dasmariñas of Pili, Camarines Sur, Philippines. It was not the win per se, but how he did it. Most boxing fans and media folks knew he will win. All the Sportsbooks in Las Vegas indicated that. What they all waited for is how the win will come. Will it be another 12-round squeaker like his win versus Donaire or a KO the Jason Maloney way. Dasmariñas crumpled on the canvas courtesy of a body shot from Inoue. Inuoe delivered the win as expected. It came via a smashing 3rd round knockout delivered via a sweet left hand. All those that bet $3000 for a straight win by the Japanese champion, can now line up at the cashier’s cage and reclaim their investment plus their $100 win. The Japanese boxing star put a clinic on “how to defend your belts the old fashion way”. He took the aspiring Filipino challenger from pillar to post, throwing everything he can muster for a great win. He was certainly a cut above Dasmariñas It was in one simple sentence - a marvelous display of boxing prowess. He simply outclassed the slugger from Bicol. Dasmariñas to his credit gave it all and left everything in the ring. He displayed great courage and the proverbial big Filipino heart. Unfortunately, those alone don’t win fights, particularly in high stake ones that are done in this glitzy city called Las Vegas. So for the aspiring Filipino fighter, it is back to the drawing board. But, he can walk around town with his chin up high because he gave it all in an attempt to get a belt for himself, his family and his team. His coaching staff can do the same as well. There was nothing more they can do to get their fighter in shape. Inuoe was just a cut above. Hopefully soon Dasmariñas will be back better and stronger.
