NBA Playoffs -- Raptors race to 2-0 lead
By Ricardo Carbajal PhilBoxing.com Thu, 20 Aug 2020

LOS ANGELES --- The Toronto Raptors jumped to a 2-0 series lead over the Brooklyn Nets by scoring a come-from-behind 104-99 victory at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Unlike their Game 1 triumph, a 134-110 rout two days ago, the Raptors played uphill for more than three quarters in Game 2. But the playoffs experience of the battle-tested defending champions carried them over the hump on Thursday morning (RP Time).
After trailing 43-29 at the end of the first quarter, Toronto stayed on Brooklyn's heels until finally breaking through with an OG Anunoby dunk that put the defending champs finally on top, 84-83, three minutes into the payoff period. They stretched the cushion to eight and held off the Nets the rest of the way.
"There is no situation we haven't been in before," Fred Van Vleet, who led Toronto with 24 points and 10 assists told The Associated Press. "It's a tough team and they are very well-coached."
Kyle Lowry had 21 and nine rebounds while Norman Powell also had 24 points off the bench for Toronto, which shot only 38 of 87 from the field (43.7 percent) and 9-of-33 from long distance (25.7 percent).
The Nets got 21 points from Gary Temple and 28 combined from Jared Allen and Joe Harris but the Nets struggled with their shots --- 33 of 85 from the field (38.8 percent) and 14 of 41 from 3-point distance (34.1 percent).
