IM Dableo captures 3rd Baby Uno Online Chess Tournament By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Sun, 21 Jun 2020 Manila---INTERNATIONAL Master (IM) Ronald Dableo from Trabajo, Sampaloc, Manila emerged champion in the 3rd Baby Uno Online Chess Tournament Friday night (June 19, 2020) at lichess.org. The former Asian Zonal champion Dableo collected 13.5 points on 13 wins, one draw and one loss to win the 15-round tournament backed up by Seaman Chief Engr. Julio V. Trunio Jr., PECA president Dr. Fred Paez, Auckland New Zealand based Mr. Jun Isaac, Jubail Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based Mr. Jimmy Reyes, Former NCFP Director Ed Madrid, Dr. Jenny Mayor, Mr. Ron Demain, sportsman Kim Zafra, Mr. Mc Daniel "Danilo Oabe" Ebao and Pretty Zada Skincare Product. It shall be recalled that Dableo already got his three GM norms and needed to raise his 2407 FIDE elo rating (standard play) to 2500 to complete his GM title status. Dableo who helped the Philippine Army chess team into an over-all championships in the AFP-PNP Olympics is also the head coach of UAAP chess champion University of Santo Tomas chess team along with coach Peter Lim. National Master (NM) Ronald Llavanes, the pride of Philippine Airforce chess team came second place with 11.5 points followed by third placer former Adamson University stalwart Jerome Villanueva with 11 points. Woman National Master (WNM) Francois Mariel Magpily of the University of Santo Tomas chess team and Jasper Faeldonia of Arellano University chess team wound up tied for fourth to fifth with 10.5 points in this blitz event also backed up by Philippine E-9 Chess Club in South Korea headed by Mr. Jun Jun Jabay, Mr. Norwin Altez Marasigan, Mr. Ruel Gomez, Mr. Recca Carcueva, Mr. Don Ken Calendario and Mr. Lando Balao Jr. Organized by Bayanihan Chess Club led by AGM Marlon Bernardino and Mr. Genghis K. Imperial in cooperation with Lay out Artist Mr. Arjie Bayangat. Rounding up the top 10 were 6th Joselito "Thotiebar" Alejano (10 pts.), 7th Eduard Sumergido (10 pts.), 8th Woman Fide Master (WFM) Jerlyn Mae San Diego, (10 pts.), 9th Norvin Gravillo (9.5 pts.) and 10th National Master (NM) Jasper Rom (9 pts.). Also receiving special awards in the recent free registration invitational tournament were Eduard Sumergido (Top PECA executive), AGM Marlon Bernardino (Top Media), Abel Dimalanta (Top Pampanga), Woman National Master (WNM) Francois Marie Magpily (Top Lady) , Al-Basher "Basty" Buto (Top kiddy 11 years old and below) and Oshrie James Reyes (Top OJ chess team).
