Moralde still waiting for a fight in USA By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Fri, 24 Apr 2020  Moralde. DAVAO CITY -- Super featherweight John Vincent "Mulawin" Moralde of Davao City is still waiting for a fight in the United States which was postponed due to Covid-19. The 25-year old Moralde was supposed to face 24-year old Oscar Duarte (19W-1L-1D, 14KO) of Mexico last March. Moralde (23W-3L-0D, 13KO), who is now residing in Miami, Florida under Osmiri Fernandez, had a total of three fights last year. He won by a technical knockout in the 1st round against Matias Agustin Arriagada of Argentina last Dec. 21 in Miami. He also earlier won by a knockout in the 1st round over Jovany Rota of Butuan last Sept. 6 in Polomolok. However, Moralde lost by a TKO in the 3rd round to Xavier Martinez of USA last April 5 in Las Vegas. His fight against Duarte was supposed to be the under card of former WBA super world bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire versus undefeated champion Nordine Oubaali of France main-event for the WBC world bantamweight title. It was tentatively scheduled on May 16 but was again postponed in June or July. Moralde is in Miami together with four other boxers from Gensan - undefeated bantamweight Reymart "Assassin" Gaballo (23W-OL, 20KO), super featherweight Mark "Machete" Bernaldez (20W-3L-0D, 14KO), James Bacon and super bantamweight Mike "Magic" Plania (23W-1L-0D, 12KO).
