Warriors Rally Past Sixers, 118-114
By Jason Aniel PhilBoxing.com Mon, 09 Mar 2020

San Francisco, CA—Without Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors snapped their ten game home losing streak by rallying passed the Philadelphia 76ers 118-114. Curry was diagnosed with the flu and did not attend the game. The team confirmed that Curry’s illness was the seasonal flu and that Curry was not at risk of the coronavirus. The 76ers were also without top stars Joel Embid and Ben Simmons. Draymond Green also missed the game with continued left knee soreness.
Without Curry, the Warriors trailed most of the game and were down eight points going into the fourth quarter. However, a big rally was capped off by a huge Damion Lee three pointer to take the lead 113-111 with under two minutes left in the game. Tobias Harris’ three pointer helped the Sixers regain the lead, but rookie Eric Paschall nailed two clutch free throws to take the lead for good. The Warriors defense shined after Sixers missed three straight shots with under a minute left, including a big time block by Marquees Chriss.
Lee led the team with 24 points and six rebounds and Paschall continued his hot scoring streak with 23 points. It was a comeback of sorts for Lee, who missed two free throws and turned the ball over late in a close loss to the Toronto Raptors in the previous game. Lee, 27, recently signed a multi-year contract with the Warriors after spending parts of the last three seasons in the G-League and on a two-way contract with the Warriors.
Harris led the Sixers with 24 points and Al Horford added 22 points and ten rebounds. The Sixers completed their week long California road trip going 1-3. The team returns to Philadelphia and will host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
