PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – Eric Gordon was in his element, connecting on 14 of his 22 shot attempts, including 6-for-11 from deep, to propel the Houston Rockets past the Utah Jazz 126-117 on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time) at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He finished with a career-high 50 points on a night when Houston didn’t have the services of its top three players James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Clint Capela.

Gordon also had 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Austin Rivers and Danuel House, Jr. added 21 apiece for the Rockets, who improved to 26 wins and 17 losses, now tied with the Dallas Mavericks at 5th to 6th spots on the Western Conference team standings.

Donovan Mitchell had 36 for Utah, while Bojan Bogdanovic hit seven treys to finish with 30 markers. Rudy Gobert had a double-double of 12 points and 14 boards for the Jazz, who dropped to a 32-14 win-loss record, tied with the Denver Nuggets for the 3rd to 4th spots on the Western Conference team standings.
