NBA -- The time to push has arrived for struggling Bulls
By Ricardo Carbajal PhilBoxing.com Tue, 07 Jan 2020

CHICAGO -- The New Year is here and despite a 13-23 won-lost slate, the Chicago Bulls, thanks to a weaker Eastern Conference, still have more than just a puncher's chance of landing a postseason berth.
But they have to start making the move now in order to gain ground on the 16-18 Brooklyn Nets and the 16-20 Orlando Magic the Bulls must start putting together a win streak because the 82-game schedule is nearing its halfway mark.
The Bulls have lost four of their last five outings and the trend of losing in bunches and dropping close, winnable contests continued when they were outlasted by the visiting Boston Celtics, 111-104, last Saturday night (Sunday morning RP time) at the United Center.
The Celtics were without their top scorer, Kemba Walker, and the Bulls, despite trailing the entire second half, came to within 97-94 with still 7:31 left in the fourth quarter. But even with Zach LaVine scoring a game-high 35 points, the Bulls could not make the winning push.
"We're right there, what can we do to fix it? I'm still down with this group of guys. We've got a great group of guys, talented, work hard, good character," Bulls point guard Kris Dunn told reporters.
The hope is for all that talent and good vibes translate to victories on the court.
The road doesn't get better moving forward though as the Bulls head to Dallas today to play the Mavericks Then they travel to New Orleans to face the revitalized Pelicans before going back home to the United Center on Friday to host the Indiana Pacers. who are 22-14 and sixth-ranked in the East.
