NBA Daily: Defending Champion Raptors Dismantle Pistons 112-99

PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – The Toronto Raptors used an 11-0 run in the third canto to break away for good and beat the Detroit Pistons 112-99 on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Paskal Siakam stuffed the stat sheets with game high 26 points, including 6 triples to go with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks. Kyle Lowry added a triple-double of 20 markers, 10 boards, and 10 dimes, while Serge Ibaka scored 25 off the bench.

Fred VanVleet didn’t suit up for the game due to a right knee injury. Marc Gasol and Norman Powell followed suit during the game. Gasol left the first frame when he sustained a left hamstring strain, while Powell was clutching his left shoulder when he left the court with 3:17 left in the fourth.

The defending champions now stand at 4th place in the Eastern Conference team standing with 19 wins and 8 losses.

Pistons frontcourt Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin returned this game from their respective injuries. Drummond got a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds, to go with 2 steals and 2 blocks. Griffin added 15 markers for the Pistons, who dropped to an 11-17 win-loss card and are now sitting at 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
