NBA Daily: 76ers Thwart Defending Champs Raptors 110 – 104 to Stay Unbeaten at Home

Boracay Island, Philippines – The Philadelphia 76ers kept their home record unblemished at 12 straight, as they beat the defending champions Toronto Raptors 110-104 on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Tobias Harris topscored for Philadelphia with 26, while rookie guard Matisse Thybulle had an excellent all-around performance netting career-high 20 markers, to go along with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, and 5-for-8 shooting from behind the arc.

Ben Simmons added 16 points, 11 boards, and 9 dimes, while Joel Embiid, who almost cost them the game with 3 consecutive turnovers of the 7 the team committed with over six minutes left, only managed to score 10 across his name.

Philadelphia dominated in the first 3 quarters, including half of the final canto, where they led by as much as 20 points. Toronto, however, outscored them 36-24 in the final frame and gave them a scare.

Kyle Lowry, who played in his second game back from a broken thumb injury, led the Raptors with 26, while OG Anunoby had a double-double of 19PTS and 10REBS.

The Raptors, who dropped to a 15-7 win-loss card at 5th place in the Eastern Conference, will next face the Bulls in Chicago on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the 76ers, who improved to a 17-7 win-loss card and sit at 4th place in the Eastern Conference, will host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Philippine time).
