NBA -- Pistons rev up offense, run over Cavs, 127-94

DETROIT -- In a battle between two struggling teams in the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons got the better of the Cleveland Cavaliers, 127-94, on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning RP time) at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
After a close first 12 minutes in which led only by four, 32-28, the visiting Pistons turned on all cylinders in the second and third quarters to go on a 65-40 run. The stunned Cavs quickly saw their deficit balloon to double figures and eventually by 29 points entering the fourth quarter.
Blake Griffin had 24 points and four rebounds to carry Detroit while frontcourt partner Andre Drummond also finished with a stellar double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. Sviatloslav Mykhailiuk added 15 for the Pistons while Derrick Rose pumped 12 off the bench.
Detroit shot 51 of 94 from the field (54.3 percent) and 18 of 35 from 3-point range (51.4 percent). In contrast, the Cavaliers went just 38 of 89 from the field (42.7 percent) and 8-of-27 from behind the arc (29.6 percent).
.Colin Sexton was the main man for the Cavaliers, finishing with 22 points. Tristan Thompson and Cedi Osman combined for 20 with Thompson grabbing 14 rebounds.
The Pistons improved to 8-13, ninth overall in the Eastern Conference, while the Cavs plunged to 5-15 and 13th overall also in the East.
