In the Asian Sportswoman of the Year category, the only Filipina in the 10 short-listed candidates roster is 2016 Olympic weightlifting silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz. The nominees include South Korean pro golfer Jin Young Ko, Australian soccer star Samantha Kerr and Cambodia’s Jessa Khan who took the gold medal in the 49 kg na-waza jiu-jitsu event at the 2018 Asian Games.
