NBA Daily: Spurs Use Balanced Attack to Beat Clippers 107-97

Cebu City, Philippines – The San Antonio Spurs looked every bit the playoff team they’ve been known for in the past two decades, as everybody chipped in to put the shackles on NBA title-contending LA Clippers 107-97 on Friday night (Saturday morning, Philippine time) at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Six Spurs scored in double figures, led by LaMarcus Aldridge and Derrick White, who finished with 17 apiece. San Antonio also had 28 assisted field goals, snapping their 2-game losing skid. The Spurs had lost 12 of their 14 games prior to this contest.

Former Spurs star Kawhi Leonard topscored for the Clippers with 19, but found little help, as Paul George could only muster a season-low 5 points on a 2-for-11 field goal shooting. As was the case in his previous visit to San Antonio, Leonard received a rowdy welcome when he was introduced and every time he touched the ball.

The Spurs, who improved to 7 wins and 13 losses, will be at Detroit on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time) to face the Pistons.

Meanwhile, the Clippers, who dropped to a 14-6 win-loss card, will host the Washington Wizards on the same night.
