MONSTER RATINGS - INOUE EARNS POUND-FOR-POUND TOP SPOT AFTER ALI TROPHY TRIUMPH

Naoya Inoue is No.1 at BoxingScene and rises on other pound-for-pound ratings after his epic win over Nonito Donaire in the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Ali Trophy final.
It’s an eternal and always exciting debate – who’s the best across boxing’s weight classes. BoxingScene argues for Inoue on their recently published list:
“Inoue has been sensational from the professional cradle and at bantamweight appears to be in his full prime fresh off winning the World Boxing Super Series. He was already arguably the most dynamic, complete offensive force in the sport. After his fierce battle with future Hall of Famer Nonito Donaire, we know what happens when he gets hit back.
Inoue battled through a fractured orbital bone, cut eye, and busted nose to drop Donaire late and still lost just three to four rounds of the fight.”
WBSS Super-Lightweight winner Josh Taylor cracks the Top 10, while Aleksandr Usyk, Season 1 WBSS Cruiserweight winner, can be found as No.5.
The Ring Ratings Panel was split when debating their latest list. One of the panelists, Martin Mulcahey, said:
“Naoya Inoue is my No.1. Any lingering questions about how he would react when not in 100% control were answered. He battled through injuries and a tough challenger winning championship rounds in a fight of the year contender. When I see Inoue in action, I sense he is best.
However, Inoue did not reach the very top, but he went from No.4 to No.3 and on other leading rankings there are also rising trends for the Monster.
