PROGRAIS ON WBSS: "I LOVE IT, THERE IS SO MUCH ON THE LINE"
PhilBoxing.com Mon, 14 Oct 2019

In an interview with Boxing Monthly, Regis Prograis (24-0, 20 KOs) praises the World Boxing Super Series format and gives ‘props’ to Josh Taylor ahead of their Super-Lightweight Ali Trophy Final at The O2 in London on October 26.
No doubt the world No. 1 and WBA ‘Super’ World & WBC Diamond Champion has achieved massive recognition and results through the knockout format of the WBSS building up to the winner-take-all conclusion in England’s capital.
Prograis showed a great variety in his collection of weapons in the quarter-final against former champ Terry Flanagan, and devastating power against Kiryl Relikh to claim the WBA World title by TKO in the sixth round of the semi.
“It really is the best fighting the best,” Prograis told Boxing Monthly. “That’s why I love it, because there is so much on the line and so much at stake in the final against Taylor – my belt, his belt, the Ali Trophy.
“In just three fights in such a short period of time, I can get all of that. I’m the kind of fighter that loves pressure on me! I want to find out how good I really am and the World Boxing Super Series puts that pressure on me.”
The American is facing maximum pressure in the Super-Lightweight Final in form of Scotland’s IBF World & WBC Silver Champion.
“He’s got a lot of skills,” the ‘Rougarou’ admitted. “He can fight on the outside, he can fight on the inside, he’s got power, he’s tall, he’s rangy and he can take a punch.
“On paper and skill-wise I think he’s good, and I give props to him, but at the same time, I just don’t see him beating me. He is a really good fighter but I don’t see him beating me at all.”
The hotly-anticipated WBSS Super-Lightweight Ali Trophy Final at The O2 in London on October 26 is shown live via Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the U.S. To sign up for a one-month free trial, fans can visit DAZN.com or download the DAZN app to their preferred connected device.
