Inter-School Kiddies Chess Tournament on Dec.14

PLAYERS from all parts of Metropolis and nearby provinces will compete for honors when the Inter-School Kiddies Chess Tournament dubbed as Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran Fide Rated Inter-School Open Kitchen Kiddies Chess Tournament gets underway on December 14 (Saturday) at the second floor Open Kitchen Restaurant Airconditioned Food Hall, Rockwell Business Center, Sheridan, Greenfields District in Mandaluyong City.

National Master Romeo M. Alcodia and Genghis K. Imperial said kiddies chessers from Metro Manila as well nearby provinces from Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Mindoro, Marinduqe and Romblon will see action in the kiddies 14 years old and under categories.

"This is the third time that Open Kitchen-Sheridan will host a kiddies 14 years old and below tournament. We have include Samsung Galaxy Tablet and Brand New Digital Chess Clock aside the top purse P5,000 plus trophy and medal awaits to the winner and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of participants, surpassing the146 turnout last September 1. Thanks to Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran with her undying support to propogate chess in the grass roots level in close cooperation with Ms. China Aurelio and Ms. Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen-Sheridan and Fortezza Travel and Tours," Alcodia and Imperial said.

The one-day Fide rapid rated event, sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines and supervised by Chess Arbiter Union of the Philippines is sponsored by Woman Fide Master (WFM) Sheerie Joy Lomibao-Beltran in coordination with Ms. China Aurelio and Ms. Mimi Casas of Open Kitchen-Sheridan and Fortezza Travel and Tours.

Cash prizes await winners with the kiddies 14 years old and below champion taking home Samsung Galaxy Tablet and Brand New Digital Chess Clock aside the top purse P5,000 plus trophy and medal while the runner-up will receive P3,000 plus trophy and medal and the third-placer will settle for P2,000 with trophy and a medal. The next two chessers will pocket P1,000 each with medals while the sixth to to 20th placers will get P500 each.

Special awardees like the top Under 6, top under 8, top under 10 and top under 12 will each go home with P500 and a medals while best coach (Most Number of School entries) will pocket P2,000 and a medal.

Registration is now ongoing. Fee is P500 while on-site is P600.
