Racasa 14th place in World Cadet

The Philippines? youngest Woman Fide Master (WFM) 45th seed Antonella Berthe ?Tonelle? Murillo Racasa suffered her second straight defeat at the hands of fourth seed Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Alexandra Shvedova (elo 1932) of Russia in the eleventh and final round of the Under-12 Girls division of the World Cadet Chess Championships on Sunday at the Yujing Hotel in Weifang, Shandong, China.

In spite of the losses in the last two rounds, Racasa performed well above her FIDE rating of 1380, which placed her as the #45 seed among ninety players according to Robert Racasa, father/coach of Antonella Berthe.

"She finished with a tournament performance rating of 1652 and gained 134.4 rating points. In the final standings, she was the lowest-rated among the top 22 players," added Robert, also an International Memory champion.

"In Rounds 5 to 9, she made an amazing run of four wins and one draw against opponents with much-higher ratings, pulling off upset after upset with victories over the #10 seed from Germany, the #9 seed from Russia, the #14 seed from Bulgaria, and the #32 seed from Vietnam as well as one draw, against the #15 seed from Canada. And all her three losses came at the hands of really strong opponents -- the #2 seed from USA, the #4 seed from Russia, and the #16 seed from Mongolia." last word of Robert, the founder and father of Memory Sports in the Philippines," last word of Racasa.

The 12-year-old Home School Global bet Racasa tallied a total output of 7.0 points on account of six wins, two draws and three loses.

3rd seed Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Galina Mikheeva (elo 1952) of Russia edged fellow 9.5 pointers 8th seed Woman Candidate Master WCM Alua Nurmanova (elo 1850) of Kazakhstan in a tie break points to win the 11 round tournament.
Overnight solo leader 2nd seed Ruiyang Yan (elo 1983) of the United States yielded to 18th seed Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Nyamdavaa Enkhbolor (elo 1627) of Mongolia to settled solo third with 9.0 points.
