PACQUIAO VS. THURMAN FACTS AND FIGURES PART III: MANNY WINS BY SPLIT DECISION

Manny Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman by a split decision in a highly competitive, and full-of-action world welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vega, Nevada. Pacquiao, the WBA "regular" welterweight champion won the WBA ?super? welterweight title from Thurman in a FOX Sports Pay-Per-View main event.

Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) knocked down Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs, 1 NC) with a right hook late in the first round.

Judges Dave Moretti and Tim Cheatham both had it 115-112 for Pacquiao. Glenn Feldman was the only judge that scored it in favor of Thurman. Since the fifth, Feldman gave Thurman seven rounds ? except the tenth round ? and came up with a 114-113 score for the previously undefeated American.

Guardian?s unofficial score: Pacquiao 115 Thurman 112.

Bad Left Hook saw it 115-112 for Pacquiao.

SB Nation scored it 116-112 for Pacquiao.

CBS had it 114-113 in favor of Thurman.

Rounds by rounds on the official scorecard:

Round One - all three judges scored it 10-8 for Pacquiao because of the Thurman knockdown.

Round Two - all three judges scored 10-9 for Pacquiao.

Round Three - Moretti and Feldman saw it for Thurman while Cheatham had it for Pacquiao.

Round Four - all three judges favored Pacquiao 10-9.

Round Five - all three judges scored 10-9 for Pacquiao.

Round Six - all three judges saw it 10-9 for Thurman.

Round Seven - all three judges had it 10-9 for Thurman.

Round Eight - Moretti gave 10-9 to Pacquiao while Cheatham and Feldman favored Thurman 10-9.

Round Nine - all three judges gave Thurman 10-9.

Round Ten - all three judges scored 10-9 for Pacquiao.

Round Eleven - all three judges scored 10-9 for Thurman.

Round Twelve - Moretti and Cheatham saw it for Pacquiao while Feldman favored Thurman.

According to Compubox, Pacquiao was the busier fighter with 57 thrown per round to 48 per round for Thurman. Pacquiao scored a knockdown in round one and connected the harder punches in the fight and that convinced two of the three judges.

Thurman's 192 power punches that landed on Pacquiao were the highest number landed by a Pacquiao opponent on him in 43 of his fights tracked by CompuBox.
