Below are the undercard results of the Rey Vargas vs Tomoki Kameda WBC world super bantamweight championship at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California Saturday night (Sunday in Manila):

6th fight, 10 rounds for the vacant WBO Global & WBA Continental America featherweight titles: Joet Gonzalez (23-0-0, 14KOs) of Glendora, California knocked out Manuel Avila (23-2-1, 8KOs) of Fairfield, California in the 6th round. Gonzalez dished out a dominant performance winning all the rounds from the three judges before finally dispatching Avila in the 6th round.

5th fight, 10 rounds super featherweights: Roger Gutierrez (22-3-1, 19KOs) shocked erstwhile undefeated Mexican prospect Rocky Hernandez (28-1-0, 25KOs) with a first round stoppage on the DAZN TV opener. Gutierrez worked his way inside and finally caught Hernandez with a crushing right sending the Mexican to the canvas who had unsteady legs getting up forcing Referee Rudy Barragan to stop the contest at 2:39 of the very first round.

4th fight, 10 rounds for WBC Continental Americas welterweight championship: Alexis Rocha (14-0-0, 9KOs) of Sta. Ana, California stopped Berlin Abreu (14-3-0, 11KOs) of Puerto Rico in the 8th round. Rocha dominated Abreu with body shots and a flurry to the head finally ended Abreu's night.

3rd fight, 8 rounds super lightweight: Ruslan Madiyev (13-1-0, 5KOs) of Kazakhstan won a hard fought unanimous decision against Filipino journeyman Ricky Sismundo (35-14-3, 17KOs). Madiyev rebounded from his last defeat against Pablo Cesar Cano while Sismundo, always a live underdog, suffered his third successive loss.

2nd fight: Jousce Gonzalez (9-0-1, 9KOs) of Glendora, California knocked down Jorge Padron (3-4-0, 3KOs) of Sonora, Mexico three times, twice in the first round and once in the second round, en route to a second round stoppage. Their contest was for 4 rounds in the lightweight division.

In the opening round, knockout artist Jonathan Esquivel (11-0-0, 10KOs) of Anaheim, California made short of Gregory Clark (4-4-1, 1KO) of Washington, DC by stopping Clark in the first round with a vicious body shot in the six-round scheduled super middleweight contest.
