Cracks in Warriors organization showing By Eddie Alinea PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 Nov 2018 Those searching for cracks in the Golden State Warriors? organization need look no further. Rumblings of discontent out of Oakland add a new layer of intrigue to the season. In the Warriors? overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Dryamond Green got into a verbal altercation with Kevin Durant, who voiced complaints about the former's failure to pass the ball to him on the final play of regulation. The exchange of words was carried out during the team huddle at the end of the regulation spilled into the locker room after the game, where it reportedly became even more heated. As a result, team management suspended Green in GSW?s date against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, which he Warriors won. Shams Charania of The Athetic reported the benching as something done to let Green ?cool off.? The looming free agency of Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has been a major talking point through the early part of the NBA season and escalated following an incident between Durant and Green. Coach Steve Kerr praised how the rest of his team has handled the situation even as he also insisted that Durant?s free agency is not an issue for the Warriors. Kerr shoots down any rumors that Durant?s impending free agency is ?festering? in the locker room. Is Kerr to be believed? Especially because his statement goes against reports from the incident. Durant has indicated early on that he wants to stay with Golden State. The Warriors have won two NBA Championships since Durant joined the team, with Durant winning the Finals MVP both times. Additionally, Golden State enters game against Atlanta Hawks at 11-3. So it?s not like the discord has led to any long term negatives on the court ? at least not yet. But regardless of what Kerr says, it seems as though at least these two have significant fences to mend with each other. Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers addressed the media on Tuesday to discuss the suspension, saying Green was suspended one game without pay by the organization for conduct detrimental to the team. His conduct included getting into a verbal altercation with teammate Kevin Durant during and after the team?s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night. Myers said Green was ?professional? in handling the news. Myers also provided a sobering quote about the organization, saying they?re not a ?perfect place.? "People think we're a perfect place. We're not," he attested ?We?ve had adversity before, we?ll have it again.? Myers isn?t sure if KD and Draymond have spoken yet, but he is confident that they will soon.
